Jewellery Care Guide

Jewellery Care Guide

Made to be worn, loved, and lived in

Jewellery is meant to be enjoyed, not locked away. With a few easy habits, you can keep your pieces looking their best while still wearing them often and with confidence.

Wear it, but be mindful

Jewellery is tougher than it looks, but a little awareness goes a long way.

  • Put jewellery on after perfumes, lotions, hairspray, and makeup
  • Remove jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping
  • Avoid direct contact with harsh chemicals (cleaning products, chlorine, sanitiser)
  • These small pauses help protect finishes, stones, and delicate details.

Everyday care tips

  • Wipe your jewellery gently with a soft, dry cloth after wearing it. This removes oils and residue
  • If a piece gets wet, dry it thoroughly before storing
  • Treat chains, clasps, and settings gently to avoid stretching or bending

Storage matters

How you store your jewellery can make a big difference.

  • Store pieces separately to prevent tangling and scratches
  • Keep jewellery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight
  • Use soft pouches, lined boxes, or compartments when possible
  • If travelling, pop pieces into individual pouches or wrap them in a soft cloth.

About tarnish (totally normal!)

Some metals may naturally tarnish over time. This is a sign of wear and life, not damage.

  • Tarnish can usually be removed with a gentle polishing cloth
  • Regular wear actually helps reduce tarnish for many metals
  • Avoid harsh cleaners unless specifically recommended for your jewellery

Stones & special pieces

Natural stones may vary slightly and can be more delicate; handle with care

  • Avoid knocking stones against hard surfaces
  • If your piece includes pearls or softer stones, keep them away from chemicals and water as much as possible

A final note

Jewellery tells your story, it’s okay if that includes a little wear along the way. These pieces are made to be part of your everyday moments, and caring for them simply helps them stay beautiful for years to come.
